The Unstuck Framework helps community and mission-driven organizations:

Worthwhile projects rarely stall because people don't care.
More often, priorities compete, resources seem limited, people aren't aligned, or nobody is quite sure what should happen next.
The Unstuck Framework provides a practical way to look at the situation differently. It's based on Five Unstuck Principles that create five perspectives — the Unstuck Lenses — to help you identify:

John P. Mason, BScF, BJ, MBA, is a speaker and advisor who helps community and mission-driven organizations move important projects from stalled to strategic.
Drawing on experience in organizational leadership, communications, journalism and community development, he works with groups facing challenging situations where the next steps are unclear.
For more than 15 years, John has helped lead the transformation of Toronto's Guild Park & Gardens from an at-risk historic site into a revitalized cultural landscape. As founding president of Friends of Guild Park, he has worked with volunteers, governments, cultural organizations and community partners to advance preservation, public programming, partnerships and major site improvements.
Lessons from projects that succeeded, stalled and eventually moved forward became the foundation for The Unstuck Framework.
John holds degrees in forestry, journalism and business. He is a recipient of the King Charles III Coronation Medal for his contributions to the community. In October 2026, he is presenting “From Stalled to Strategic: How Community Groups Turn Heritage Stories into Systems for Change” at the National Trust for Canada Conference.
Bring Unstuck to your organization.
